MAG Boys Stand Out at HPP Invite

It was a great start to the 2020 competition season for the Level 5, 6 and 7 MAG boys on Sunday 1st at the HPP Invitational. All of the boys competed well on all six apparatus with great determination against a field of tough competitors. For many of the boys it was their first competition at a higher level with new skills and routines.

Some of the highlights of the competition included Jamil (Level 5 Under) placing 3rd on High Bar and Vault with two neat and powerful routines. Daniel (Level 5 Under) performed his Floor routine with ease and accuracy securing him a well-deserved 3rd place. In Level 6 Open, Mason had a very consistent and clean competition, which won him 1st All Around, setting a high standard in Level 6 Open. Josh also had a consistent competition and performed a flowing H-Bar routine which secured him a 4th place. Sebastian competed a fearless Floor routine bringing out his most difficult skill, a layout full twist and was awarded a 2nd place on the apparatus. The Level 6 team consisting of Sebastian, Mason, and Josh managed to place 2nd overall with only three people on their team which is a great achievement.

In the Level 7 Under Division, Will competed for the first time this year, having skipped Level 6. Despite the increase in difficulty he had a great competition, winning 2nd on Pommel and Vault and even performed a new skill for the first time on Pommel. It was Newman’s first time competing in Level 8 Under and he was determined to start the year with a bang. He managed to win Vault with two clean and well executed routines.

Congratulations to all the boys who competed, they have all kicked off the 2020 season well and done their coaches and Pit Gymnastics proud. They are all looking forward to the upcoming trials and what the rest of the competition season will bring.
