During the first week of school holidays in September 2019 PIT participated in the National Clubs Carnival held up on the Gold Coast. It was a great week away from the stagnant Melbourne weather and a great experience for the gymnasts and their families to travel interstate for competition.
The week itself was action packed with PIT teams busy competing at the venue or busy riding the roller coasters at the theme parks. A personal highlight for the trip for me (aside from the gymnastics of course!) was having a swing of the club at Top Golf driving range with some of the families, until next time Joey!
To start the campaign off on Sunday were the WAG Level 8’s who enjoyed themselves in the arena for their last competition of the season. The girls competed well, displaying some clean and dynamic routines throughout both days. The Level 6 girls were on next alongside the MAG Level 4/5’s in the Men’s arena. Both teams demonstrated some excellent gymnastics and came out smiling after for many, their first two-day competition. To round out the week, the WAG Level 5’s took to the floor. With three arena’s competing simultaneously it was the biggest competition of the event. That didn't matter to the girls as they all stood up to the plate and held their nerves to perform some super routines.
Throughout the whole carnival it was great to see the sportsmanship and support all the gymnasts had for each other. Thanks to all the parents for making the journey north and to Dani, Bec and BJ for your time coaching and judging at the event.
