On Saturday 27th October the Level 2 girls competed in the State Pennant. It was the first finals competition for these girls in their first year of competitions. After such a successful year, the girls were excited, nervous and ready to wow the judges.
The first session saw the Team of Inessa, Alex, Arija, Heidi and Sophia take to the competition floor. The girls were well poised and excited for the day. The girls began with a spare. This was a nice rest for the girls at such an early competition. Their first apparatus was Floor and they all showed beautiful shapes and pointed toes. Again the girls had another spare where they worked on their shapes for Vault. Moving on to Vault, the girls demonstrated beautiful height in the straight jumps and clean handstands in their handstand flat backs. On Bars the girls completed amazing bent knee swings and controlled forward rolls. Lastly, the girls took to the Beam. Their arabesques wowed the judges and they finished off with clean, tight straight jumps. These girls had a fantastic competition and their hard work paid off as they placed 3rd in Victoria for their 8 years and under age group! Amazing effort girls!!
The 3rd session saw two teams compete. The team of Hayley, Ashlee, Tori, Steph and Keira and the team of Natasha, Lucy, Alice, Isabelle D, Olivia and Alison. These girls were extremely excited to compete and their energy was high. These girls also began their competition with a spare, where they rested and watched others competing. Next they were off to Vault. On Vault the girls were a little shaky and nervous but managed to keep nice shapes and beautiful pointed feet. Moving to Bars, the girls wowed the judges with clean, perfected routines. On Beam the girls showed great height in their straight jumps and controlled routines. Lastly, the girls moved to Floor. It was here that they really shone and showed off all of their hard work for the year. Their routines were clean and focused and they all had beautiful cartwheels and forward rolls. A huge congratulations to the team of Steph, Keira, Tori, Ashlee and Hayley on their wonderful achievements at the competition. They performed their best routines of the season. An extra well done to Hayley, Ashlee and Tori who joined the group only a couple of weeks before the competition. The team of Natasha, Lucy, Alice, Isabelle D, Olivia and Alison were lucky enough to wow all of the judges and are the Victorian Champions for the 9 years and under age group. Incredible effort girls!
Coaches Bridget and Nicole have been thrilled by the girls work ethic, determination, passion and poise all year and are so proud of their achievements. Superstars in the making! What an outstanding year!
