PIT Girls Shine at Balance and EKGA Invitationals

Balance Invitational

Extremely early on Sunday morning the 5th August, the level 2 girls were eager and energetic to compete for the second time at Balance Gymnastics. After competing so well at EKGA two weeks prior, the girls were keen to show off their best skills yet again. Despite the early morning, all girls were focussed and poised. Their competition started well with some excellent improvements in their straight jumps on Vault and beautiful shapes on Bars. Their fantastic routines continued from there and the girls shone throughout the entire competition. The girls showed great sportsmanship cheering for all the other competitors during the competition. How amazing!

The girls all walked out of the competition with medals around their necks.

PIT White placed 1st on Vault, 1st on Bars, 1st on Beam, 2nd on Floor and 1st Overall. Well done to Alice, Alex, Olivia, Steph, Keira, Isabel S and Sophia.

PIT Blue placed 2nd on Vault, 2nd on Bars, 3rd on Beam, 1st on Floor and 2nd Overall. Well done to Lucy, Inessa, Arija, Isabelle D, Heidi and Alison.

PIT Gymnastics and coaches Nicole and Bridget are so impressed by the girls and their continuing efforts. Keep up the incredible work!

EKGA Invitational

The mid-comp-parental Sunday stroll was no where to be seen with the Level 3-6 girls competing at their finest during the EKGA Invitational! The 12th of August was a day full of competition and sparkles. The glitter in the hair, and in the air resulted in some pretty groovy podium finishes and individual personal bests across the board.

It was a frosty start with the Level 3 girls heating up the room and filling up the podium. PIT Blue coming 2nd Overall and PIT White placed 3rd Overall, safe to say the girls had a strong start to their day. All their hard work in the gym with coach Rachel, Emily and Ash paid off, with a podium finish for all the girls.

Following on, the Level 4 girls all teamed up and cleaned up! Matilda and Danielle led their girls in both Team Blue and Team White to victory with the teams coming 1st and 2nd respectively. The girls routines resulted in a clean sweep in the Overall standing well done girls!

The Level 5 girls individually were kicking goals with coach Claudia by their sides. They began their competition on Floor showing off their routines in style. Then followed Vault with Lucy scoring an amazing 9.9 flying into first place, super effort Lucy! Next was Bars with Nicola getting her kip for the first time and Chloe following suit and competing her kip for the second time in competition. The girls finished up on Beam with Mikayla competing a tight, solid and confident Beam routine placing 5th. Jasmine competed a consistent competition achieving 2nd Overall with Lucy coming in a close 4th place. All girls had a great competition with the team placing 2nd Overall! Well done girls and Claudia in your performance.

Finally, the Level 6 girls came in with high spirits leading to a strong and confident performance from all of the girls. Hannah, Charlotte, Anja and Kyra supported and helped each other fight the nerves to get each other across the line. The girls started on Bars with Charlotte competing a strong routine. Beam is always a shaky experience but all the girls came off with smiles and Anja scoring her best for the day. Next up was Floor with Hannah gracefully tumbling her way into 7th place. Finishing up the day of competitions the girls forced all their power into their final rotation, Vault, with Kyra performing one of her finest placings with an 8th. These ladies got the job done resulting with them placing a solid 6th as a team! Well done girls!!

Overall PIT had a successful Sunday at the EKGA Invitational. Excellent results from all the girls and a weekend for parents and the PIT family to be very proud of. Great to see all the hard work from all of the coaches and gymnasts paying off. On that amazing note, the competition Sunday finished off early so everyone got to cruise home to a well-deserved rest!
