October 11, 2019

During the first week of school holidays in September 2019 PIT participated in the National Clubs Carnival held up on the Gold Coast. It was a great week away from the stagnant Melbourne weather and a great experience for the gymnasts and their families to travel interstate for competition.

The week itself was action packed with PIT teams busy competing at the venue or busy riding the roller coasters at the theme parks. A personal highlight for the trip for me (aside from the gymnastics of course!) was h...

On Sunday the 25th Of August, PIT played host to several clubs around Melbourne and country Victoria at the annual PIT Invitational. It’s always an exciting event for the PIT boys where they can compete on home turf. It was also the first competition for the up and coming level 1’s who have only been training artistic since the start of the year.

First up in Session 1 were the Level 1’s with Anthony & Tom and the Level 2’s with Dani and Emily. All the boys were looking schmick with their stylish hair-dos...

On Sunday the 3rd of March the PIT Boy's headed down to Knox for their second competition of the year. As I arrived, the previous session of Level 7's had just concluded with Thomas putting a consistent competition together to claim 3rd AA while Newman demonstrated improved routines picking up a gold medal on Vault and 3rd AA.

The middle session consisted of the level 5's with Harley, Will & Will raring to go. First up on Pommels, Harley pushed through his routine without a fall while Wil...

The first competition of the year is always character building. It gives gymnasts an idea of where they are compared to the other gymnasts in Victoria and what they need to do here on out to achieve their goals for the rest of the year.  Sunday, last weekend (17/02/19) marked the start of the MAG competition season at the Men’s HPP.

Consistency was the key for the Level 6 Open Callum, finishing 2nd on Pommel and 2nd on Parallel Bars, securing him 3rd place All Around and proving to be a gymnast to look...

WAG re-cap - Danielle Quinlan

For some Gymnasts, it was their first year competing at a State Championship event and for many gymnasts, this was their first opportunity to compete interstate. Excitement was at an all-time high when we attended podium training on Friday afternoon. This podium training session allowed for the Gymnasts to test out the equipment ahead of the competition and they were thrilled to discover that due to the gymnastics floor being placed on top of a basketball court, the floor wa...

On a cold Sunday morning the level 1's boys had their first competition in gymnastics at the PIT Invitational.  These boys train twice a week for two hours and are aged between 6 and 7. In the weeks prior to the PIT Invite, the boys had been training especially hard on each of the apparatuses.

On the morning of the competition the boys seemed very excited and nervous, but once the comp had started the nerves started to settle and they felt right at h...

A cold morning, no light and not a car on the road; sounds like a day trip to Mt Buller! But it wasn't, instead it was the first competition of the year for the Junior PIT boys at Grips Gymnastics Club. With the coffee in the thermos and the heater on full blast the boys made the trek out to Ringwood for their 7am start.

Session 1 was represented by Adele (Level 1), Finn, Dominic and Luciano (level 2). This was Adele’s first ever competition but he was as cool as a cucumber to collect 1st on Vault and an...
