During the first week of school holidays in September 2019 PIT participated in the National Clubs Carnival held up on the Gold Coast. It was a great week away from the stagnant Melbourne weather and a great experience for the gymnasts and their families to travel interstate for competition.
The week itself was action packed with PIT teams busy competing at the venue or busy riding the roller coasters at the theme parks. A personal highlight for the trip for me (aside from the gymnastics of course!) was h...

PIT Gymnastics is excited to officially unveil a fresh new look!
As this is our 40th anniversary, it’s a great opportunity for the club to update the PIT Gymnastics logo and philosophy to a more contemporary look as we head into our 5th decade of operation. It’s been an incredible journey which all started with John Dorrington in a tiny auxiliary gym at Phillip Institute of Technology (PIT) in 1979, now formally known as RMIT in Bundoora.
This re-vamp for the club will build and expand on the existing bra...

A cold morning, no light and not a car on the road; sounds like a day trip to Mt Buller! But it wasn't, instead it was the first competition of the year for the Junior PIT boys at Grips Gymnastics Club. With the coffee in the thermos and the heater on full blast the boys made the trek out to Ringwood for their 7am start.
Session 1 was represented by Adele (Level 1), Finn, Dominic and Luciano (level 2). This was Adele’s first ever competition but he was as cool as a cucumber to collect 1st on Vault and an...
On Sunday the 10th of December, PIT held its annual December Display day. On show were four action packed sessions with performances ranging from Juniors all the way up to the Adult and Coaches display. For some of PIT’s gymnasts this was the first time they’ve ever performed in front of an audience so it was great to see them holding their nerve and having fun.
Some of the many highlights included:
The Flippers hanging out on the beach and showing off their skills they’ve learnt over the year
On Sunday the 29th of October, PIT Gymnastics held the Junior PIT Invitational over three action packed sessions. It’s always nice to be competing on home turf and the boys put on a fantastic display of gymnastics.
First up in the morning were the Level 2’s competing in only their second competition! Accompanied by coach Ben Holden, the boys held their nerves and made it through in one piece. Great to the see the boys progressing with Finn placing 2ndon High Bar with a 9.65.
